Beloved Community Build & Conversation
St. John’s Church and Teton Habitat joins the nationwide “Beloved Community” initiative to bring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s vision of access, equality and opportunity for all into action.
The next Beloved Community project, Beloved Conversations around Housing, will be on June 13, 2019. You have two opportunities to join us! We will start at The Grove job site (845 W. Snow King Ave.) from 9 am - 1 pm and finish at St. John’s Episcopal Church (170 N. Glenwood St.) in Hansen Hall from 6 - 7:30 pm. Join us for a Habitat Lunch and Learn lead by Kathy Iazard to discuss the foundation of building a truly engaged Beloved Community. Lunch provided!
In the evening, we will hear from community partners and Kathy Izard, award-winning author of The Hundred Story Home and A Good Night for Mr. Coleman. These books are based on true stories about homelessness and inspiring us to believe in the power of one person doing good.
About Beloved Community:
Habitat for Humanity joins The King Center to mobilize nationwide affordable housing work by gathering diverse community members to come together. We are more than 50 years into the adoption of The Civil Rights Act and The Affordable Housing Act. St. John’s Church and Teton Habitat invite others to join in the building efforts and in pledging to help build the Beloved Community.
