Invitation to Focus Groups
My name is Annie Sampson, and I would like to personally invite each of you to attend at least one of our focus group meetings over the next month.
I have attended St. John’s for over 10 years. I came here seeking a greater connection to God and to others, to serve and to find a place with a strong youth program for my daughter. I found that and much, much more! I have been a member of the Altar Guild, an acolyte, a lay eucharistic minister, and a member of the church vestry.
These focus group meetings are helping us find God’s plan for our church and parish through all of you. Sign up below!
Focus Group Study
Thank you for your participation! You are welcome to join in the youth room downstairs after the 8 AM or the 10 AM service. See you there.
As a vestry member for 6 years, I truly thought that I would attend the focus group meetings as more of a facilitator, presenter, or teacher.
I was wrong. During my first meeting, I learned so much about the history of this church including St. John’s Chapel and the Chapel of the Transfiguration, and how we grew into the congregation and parish we are today. I learned about the vision for the near future. The people who were in attendance were thoughtful and honest posed their questions about the plans, and gave many new perspectives and ideas that I hadn’t heard or thought of before.
As a vestry member who is going to be making final decisions about the project and entering into a capital campaign, I urge you all to attend at least one focus group meeting. We need your ideas and input. We need your encouragement and your involvement.
Each presentation lasts about 30 minutes, You will then have time to ask questions or make comments. Then we’ll ask you each to fill out a brief but very important questionnaire about the next steps before the conclusion of the meeting. All comments and questionnaire information will be consolidated and presented to the vestry so that we can make an informed decision.
I look forward to taking our next steps together with you to fulfill our mission to cover the valley with love, like snow covers it in the wintertime.
Thank you and blessings to you all!
