Meet Bert, Our June Chaplain
Meet our June chaplain at the Chapel of the Transfiguration. He will be in town serving at 8 and 10 am this Sunday!
Bert Baetz serves as rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Kerrville, Texas. Prior to his ministry in Kerrville, Bert served as rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Richmond, Texas, and associate rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Austin, Texas. Before his ordination in the Episcopal Church, he was the Upper School humanities teacher and associate chaplain at St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Austin.
Bert is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Duke Divinity School, and the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest. He has served on numerous boards and committees in both the Diocese of Texas and the Diocese of West Texas. He has been invited to lead retreats, preach, and teach in a variety of settings in the larger Episcopal Church and also exercises entrepreneurial leadership through his non-profit corporation, Fishers of Men. With a keen interest in the art of fly fishing, Bert leads men on retreats across the country with the objective to discover the intersection of fly fishing and spirituality.
Bert and his wife Sarah, have two children: Eloise (8) and Oliver (5). Bert enjoys life in the Texas Hill Country, time with his family, running, fly fishing, hunting, reading, and writing.
