Meet Lisa Burns

Meet The Rev. Canon Lisa Burns, our first chaplain at The Chapel of the Transfiguration this summer!

Since 2018, Lisa has served as the Canon for Wellness and Care in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, overseeing programs that foster and protect ministry integrity, clergy support, and healthy relationships. Daughter of an Episcopal priest, her professional journey began as an attorney and continued as a kindergarten teacher and administrator in an Episcopal School before entering the priesthood. She is also the mother of three sons, a visual artist, amateur poet, storyteller and puppeteer, and a perpetual English major in search of the perfect sentence. She lives southwest of Austin in the country with her husband, feeding wild turkeys, celebrating the creek when it runs, and learning to pay attention.
