Poetry for the Pandemic
The profound art of poetry can connect us to each other, to worldwide humanity and to our own Divine natures in this time of uncertainty, suffering and fear.
Our summer guest chaplain, the Rev. Travis Helms, Episcopal Chaplain at the University of Texas and a poet, will help us launch this summer’s poetry gatherings under the tent safely distanced on Tuesday, July 28, from 1:30 PM to 3 PM. The regular group meetings will begin Thursday, August 6, 1:30 PM to 3 PM under the tent, and continue on Thursdays as needed.
To register, please email BOTH Suzanne Harris, [email protected] and Susan Jackson, [email protected]. There will be a strict participant limit of 20 people including 3 leaders.
In the meantime, take a look at this poem from Lynne Ungar entitled Pandemic.
