We Sure Do!
If you were walking by our youth wilderness trip group in Yellowstone you probably would have overheard one of us saying “Sure does!” in any given 10-minute period.
“Sure does/sure will” describes the attitude of every trip participant during our 5 days together. The ‘yes!’ mentality, the ‘let’s do it!’ even if it means getting up before sunrise to start paddling to our boat-in only camp spots on Yellowstone Lake.
Try this riddle on for size: Two penguins are in a kayak, in the middle of the desert, with paddles. They are paddling away in the sand when the first penguin turns to the second penguin and asks “WHERE IS your paddle?” The second penguin responds, "sure does". Why did the second penguin respond this way? (When you're stumped, see the answer below.)
We spent time laughing, sharing, and reflecting in the water and around the campfire. Do we want to do it all over again? Sure do! Thanks to Wilderness Adventures for organizing, Carole Beaumont for chaperoning and the youth who brought the best attitudes!

(Answer: It WEARS your paddle. Paddling in the sand “sure does” wear out your paddle.)
