CAMPFIRE presents | Kevin Grange | Sun. Dec 8, 6-7:30p, Virginian Saloon
This month, CAMPFIRE welcomes award-winning author and firefighter paramedic Kevin Grange, in celebration of his newest book, Grizzly Confidential: An Astounding Journey Into the Secret Life of North America’s Most Fearsome Predator, published in September 2024.
Kevin Grange is an award-winning freelance writer with an emphasis on the medical field, adventure and travel. He is the author of Grizzly Confidential: An Astounding Journey Into the Secret Life of North America’s Most Fearsome Predator, published in September 2024 by Harper Horizon. He is also the author of Wild Rescues: A Paramedic’s Extreme Adventures in Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton, published by Chicago Review Press in March 2021, winner of the High Plains Book Award in the Medicine & Science category. In June 2015, Berkley Books, a division of Penguin Random House, published Kevin’s memoir Lights and Sirens: The Education of a Paramedic, a true account of going through UCLA’s famed Daniel Freeman Paramedic Program—and practicing emergency medicine on the streets of Los Angeles. In 2011, The University of Nebraska Press published Grange’s travel memoir, his first book, Beneath Blossom Rain, about his 24-day trek through the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan. Along with writing, Kevin is honored to work as a firefighter/paramedic with Jackson Hole Fire/EMS and Grand Teton National Park.
CAMPFIRE reimagines how we gather as community. Each month, we bring in guest speakers for a unique, participatory storytelling experience, hosted in a subtly ritualized framework, to explore what most drives, moves and inspires us.
Free and open to the public.
***Billy's Burgers and fare from the Virginian Saloon available onsite / free to first-time attendees!***
CAMPFIRE Gatherings are interactive, dynamic storytelling experiences that thrive on guest participation. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and stay late as we enjoy a festal 'communion' of food, libations, and conversation together. Above all, CAMPFIRE aims to create a space for anyone craving meaningful connection.
CAMPFIRE also supports regular small-group meet-ups for individuals keen on deepening conversation and connection over meals, film and article discussion, and skiing / hiking forays into the backcountry.
A project of St. John's Episcopal Church, CAMPFIRE is an inclusive, celebratory community that affirms and honors the dignity and beauty of every human being. All are welcome, always.
